All smokers will agree that quitting smoking takes a whole lot of determination and will power. The temptation to have a cigarette is heightened by the withdrawal symptoms. You may be overcome with lack of concentration, irritability and listlessness. Sometimes, it may all seem just too much to take. Here are a few handy tips on how to overcome the urge to go back to smoking while staying as sane as possible.

Start by knowing that your urge for nicotine is just temporary and will pass. Most cravings last for a maximum of 2 minutes. So if you just take a deep breath and tell yourself to let it pass, the urge to smoke actually will. Deep breathing will bring down your heart rate and actually help you to relax. How many times have you attempted to stop smoking but have failed to do so? Yes I thought so – not good is it? No doubt – like many of the people who read this article I tried, and failed, numerous times to quit smoking before eventually managing to find a top quality stop smoking technique that worked for me.
